Auto Accident

Two people were taken to Memorial Hospital following this two-vehicle accident reported to the Allegany County Department of Emergency Services Tuesday at 3:28 p.m., according to Maryland State Police Tfc. R.W. Yaniga, who investigated the accident. Beth DeVore, 39, of Ellerslie was northbound on state Route 35 in a 1997 Ford Taurus and had stopped to turn onto Gardner Road, when her vehicle was struck from behind by a 2000 Ford Escort driven by a 16-year-old female. Charges are pending against the juvenile, police said. Emergency responders from Ellerslie and Corriganville were on the scene
